I asked a question this morning about whether people should be allowed to tell people on this board to quit chemo and try alternative medications, or if it was a dangerous practice that should be banned. A couple responders claimed that these treatments do work, but when I challenged them to show me some scientific evidence, nobody did. Can anyone show me evidence these treatments are effective cures?
a: that isnt primary literature, those are articles written by journalists on a website. and they mostly talk about possibilities of preventing cancer, not natural cures that could replace chemo

My Mum’s battling with cancer at the moment and we’re doing what we can for that. She’s taking Morphine and Brufen to manage the pain, Antinaus for nausea and Laxsol as a laxative when she needs it. Also, a nutrient supplement as she’s not eating too much.

She’s quite tired and need the morphine for pain but she’s still pretty with it, and has some really good days when she’ll eat properly, have a laugh and play with her grandson. Everyday though, she seems to have issues with wind trapped in her stomach that causes painful cramps and dry retching a couple of times a day. Does anyone know of a way to alleviate this?

Current cancer treatment averages hundreds of thousands of dollars per individual. And it appears that a cure would in the form of a treatment “tailored to the individual’s genetic makeup.” So, in effect, curing a single cancer patient could be very expensive.

But if we continue to cure cancer patients, then the cancer rate in society will go up, because when cancer survivors procreate with non-cancer individuals, the offspring produced are genetically predisposed to getting cancer. So, at some point in time, almost everyone in society could develop cancer at some point in their life. And having to cure everyone would be impractical because of the huge financial impact it would have on society.

So if this was how cancer is cured, then should we ban it?

Last week I had a port put inside my body so that could start chemo treatments for my cancer. A day or two after the operation, I somehow caught my mother’s nasty cold or flu. Could this cold or flu somehow delay my chemo treatments for my cancer? Why or why not?

Medical professionals, doctor’s,nurses, medical personnel or cancer surivors only please answer my question. Thank You.

Due to mistreatment and neglect in the best cancer treatment program of the country, my dad passed away. I need to let people know what has gone one in our case so that they think twice before choosing an institution where they will be treated for cancer. More specifically, multiple myeloma, a type of bone marrow cancer.
