has anyone had any bad side effects from Tomoxiphen after thier breast cancer treatments?

About four years ago I was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer, had it removed and then given Tomoxophen. the Docs decided that I didn’t need chemo. After taking Tomoxophen for 8 months I develoged an allergery (severe bleeding from nose, eyes and other personal areas) and was taken off of it. So far I am cancer free but now I am having other problems such as severely deteroirating teeth and porus bones, thinning hair and have developed rhumatism in my joints. The Doc doesn’t seem to know what is going on. I have had all kinds of tests and according to them I should be in good shape. Could it be the Tomoxiphen even if I haven’t taken it in years? Anyone have any info? Any information would be appreciated.

yes, all of the above can happen when you’ve taken tamoxifen
also severe hot flashes. it’s no fun, because technically the tamoxifen is a poison to your system and i would guess that the symptoms you are/were having are due to the drug. i think that you should go to your pharmacy and have the pharmacist pull the information sheet out so that the 2 of you can go over all of this together….the pharmacist is more or less a drug doctor so he can explain any questions you may have about it…..if i were you i think i would see another oncologist just for a 2nd opinion..
i am really really sorry that you have had to go thru all this.and i will keep you in my prayers. good luck to you…..and i hope the
information that i have provided is helpful to you…….
I was also put onto Tomoxiphen for breast cancer. Only took it for 6 months as it puts you into menopause. So the deteriorating teeth and bones could be because of that. I have a friend who has been on it for 10 years and no side affects at all. So I think this is a case of everybody reacts differently. I hope you get it sorted.
