My uncle has been diagnosed with cancer and he is uninsured, how can I raise money to help pay for treatments?

cancer treatments
Hope E asked:

My uncle is 47, married with 3 children. Ages: 17,13, and 7. His grand child is 7 months old. He is self employed so he has no health insurance. My mother lives with my husband and I and we are 7 hours away from him. One thing I can do so far away is raise money to help pay for his treatments. I need suggestions and ideas because I’ve never attempted anything like this.

ok, if he really needs chemo you are not going to be able to raise enough money to help him.

He needs to ask his doctor what chemo or treatment he is going to get, and then apply to the pharmaceutical company for free drugs. Another thing he can do is go to a free clinic. Really, his oncologist should be able to point him in the right direction.

I think it is a nice gesture to raise money for him. I’m sure he could still use gas money or money for miscellaneous expenses. But chemo can be quite expensive, and he will likely need more help than you can provide alone.

There are many on site “Free Clinics”…depending where you live. His Doctor can give him places to call, and some hospitals have funds set up to cover all expenses. Tell your uncle to talk this over with his Doctor.HE WILL GET HELP
